English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

You will find life easier and have a better chance of getting a good job if you have a good standard of English. If English isn't your main language, you can do a course to help you improve your English. These courses are called ESOL or English for Speakers of other Languages.

What does an ESOL course involve?

  • speaking and listening
  • reading and writing
  • vocabulary
  • punctuation and grammar

There are courses at different levels so you will be able to start at the right level for you. The National Careers Service website contains a course search tool that will help you find an appropriate course near you.

Take a look at the links on the right hand side for more information.
