Refuse Collection & Recycling

Rural location.  Small depot approx. 25 vehicles / 54 staff

Longcliffe, Nr.  Brassington, Derbyshire, De4 4HN

 

Workshop Apprentice to support the HGV Workshop Function

HGV Workshop – 2 team members currently – Supervisor & Fitter

 

Weekly Wage:

£192.30 per week (£10,000 per annum)

 

Working week:

Monday – Friday.  May be some Saturday work (overtime)

Hours – 06.30-15.00 / 08.30-17.00

 

Skills Required:

To work and develop as part of a team responsible for the provision of service, repairing and maintenance of vehicles.  Carrying out a wide range of HGV vehicle related work.  Be prepared to attend training courses to enhance skills, capability and knowledge.

Must be physically fit and have the capability to lift and operate heavy items / machinery.  To support in ensuring that H&S and legal requirements are met and to work safely at all times. Capable of working on own initiative, self-motivating and problem solving.  Also needs to be capable of working as part of a team.  Good communication skills.  Friendly and outgoing attitude capable of communicating with drivers.

 

Personal Qualitities:

Capable of following instructions, friendly, outgoing personality, good interpersonal skills, efficient and willing to learn / develop.

 

Qualifications Required:

GCSE English / Mathematics (or equivalent)

Any mechanical engineering skills / qualifications would be desirable but NOT essential.

 

Applicants will need to have a driving licence and possess a car / motor bicycle as this role is rural based and is not serviced by buses / trains.
