Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum plus car + pension (depending on experience)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Serco, for an experienced Business Project Manager - reporting into the Central Government (CG) Head of Projects within the CG Portfolio Management Office (PMO). The CG PMO operates as a Portfolio Management Office delivering measurable business performance improvement through excellent Project & Programme Management of CG’s key challenges.  Delivering best-practice management of change, improvement, risk avoidance and innovation projects & programmes aligned to Serco’s Strategy: To be the best managed business in our chosen sectors. 

 

You will be based in Hook, with regular travel to London for the first 6 months.  Moreover, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of large projects, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, quality and risk; as well as the acquisition and utilisation of resources and skills. A real focus is on deployment and the delivery of defined benefits.

 

As a key part of the CG PMO, you will be working on multiple and varied projects, from end to end and will be a Champion of excellent  Project Management. You will lead the successful delivery of projects, through effective stakeholder management, mature influencing skills, management of the people change aspects of a project, risk identification and management as well as excellent planning and execution capability.

 

We are looking for a Business Project Manager - a real people person with a track record of delivery - who relishes a challenge.   In essence, a sound influencer; highly impactful; articulate; a strong relationship builder; and possesses exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder management and change management skills.

 

The successful person will be able to demonstrate: 1) solid experience in designing & implementing project management frameworks - ideally in a service environment; and 2) Managing projects in a complex and regulated environment, with experience in working within a matrix organisation providing services across disparate locations, capabilities and stakeholders.  In addition, advanced MS Office Skills – including, but not limited to: Project, Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

 

To succeed in this role, you will have a positive and enthusiastic outlook, with the ability to think laterally, generate new ideas and turn them into reality.  You will possess the skill to quickly understand a complex business challenge and generate targeted solutions and implement them.

SC Security Cleared or ability to obtain clearance.
