Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within our Business Fire Safety Team for a District Manager managing Engineering and Building Regulations based at South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Headquarters.

The overall purpose of the role will be managing staff and providing fire engineering and technical fire safety support to the Fire Safety Team in line with service policies and procedures.

To be considered for this role you will require to have a Fire Engineering Degree or be nearing the completion of a full degree and be in possession of accredited Fire Safety qualifications, together with management qualifications.

You must have proven experience in aspects of understanding fire safety legislation within the built environment, experience on building consultation and the Building Regulations consultation process and a full working knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Applicants must have excellent written and communication skills with the ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads. All applicants must have a current driving licence.

The key duties will include managing a specialised team and providing full building engineering support to the Fire Safety Department and SYFR.
