Vehicle Technology Engineer- 6 month fixed term contract

We are currently looking to recruit a Technology Engineer to work for the Police Services Secure Installations Contract which is based within the Oxfordshire area. This role will require you to work 40 hours per week and the working hours are Monday- Friday 08:30- 17:00.
Please note this is a 6 month fixed term contract.
The Police Services Secure Installations Contract provide specialist IT and surveillance equipment that is installed in to vehicles.
Overview of the role
The Technology Engineer will be based within the workshop facility at the Police Services where you will be working closely with the Hardware Engineer and Installation Technicians, in the preparation of predominantly IT and surveillance equipment for installation in to vehicles. This will involve the design, set up, installation and maintenance of vehicle borne IT systems as well as more detailed work with the design and production of 3D printed items.
You will be accountable for assisting the functions to be able to reduce the build time of vehicle installations and assisting with the design and setting up and operating a database of standard vehicle builds on CF cards.
Other duties to include; assist and support the sites IT and CCTV systems as well as conducting in-depth research to be able to develop new IT equipment for use in vehicle borne systems and software applications to assist with the automation of process.
As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate a reasonable amount of experience of working in a secure environment. It would be advantageous if you had Military experience however this is not essential.
To succeed in this role you will be able to evidence experience of working with CAD (Computer Aided Design) packages and be proficient in the design and manufacture and testing of PCBs. Knowledge of Ribbon connections is desirable.
You will able make, set up, design and install new bespoke computer terminals meaning you will be very IT literate and be familiar with all aspects of MS Office and MS Operating Systems, including server applications.

Due to the nature of this role you will be required to hold a Full UK driving licence.
