About us
RAF College Cranwell supports the flying task for No 3 Flying Training School (3FTS) which provides elementary flying training for pilots from the RAF, RN and Army using the Grob Tutors of Nos 16(R), 57(R), 115(R), 674(AAC) and 703(NAS) Sqns as well as advanced flying training for multi-engine pilots on the Beech King Air B200 aircraft of No 45(R) Sqn. No 45(R) Sqn also provides generic training for all RAF Weapon Systems Operators (WSOps) and advanced specialist training for those selected for the fixed wing ISTAR and ATAAR fleets. It is also home to the Headquarters of No 6 Flying Training School (6FTS) which oversees all University Air Squadrons in universities across the UK.

About the role
You will be responsible for managing the desk on the Bridge during flying, to co-ordinate aircraft handling and flight servicing activities on Serviceable aircraft. You will also be responsible for:
* Establishing Flight Servicing on aircraft that are programmed to fly
* Ensuring that there is adequate manning and supervision on the Line Operations
* Close communication with Squadron/Station Operations and Shift Leaders to ensure Serviceable aircraft are provided to cover the flying programme.
* Update FlightLog computer
* Handling and liaising of Visitor Aircraft with Station Operations and provide assistance to visiting Flightcrew
* Controlling all aircraft movements onto and off the ASP by consulting with Squadron/Station Operations, ATC and shift Leaders.
* Establish through the Team Leader what each Aircraft requires to carry out Landaway sorties by means of documentation and sufficient hours to accomplish the tasks planned.
* Maintain the aircraft state board and advise the Shift Leader of any changes.
* Plan aircraft movement in and out of the hangar so that the flying programme is not compromised.
* Inform the Maintenance Operations Manager of any emergency states concerning our aircraft. Whenever Aircraft serviceability change.  Any impending manning shortages are to be brought to the attention of the Maintenance Manager.
* Advising ASG whenever Aircraft fuel is required and what type.
* Report all unserviceable Ground Support Equipment.

About you
* Although no formal qualifications are required it is essential that you have a strong knowledge and understanding of Aircraft, with previous experience working with an aircraft Line Maintenance Environment is preferred.  
* You must be computer literate.
