We are currently looking to recruit a Communications and Employee Engagement Manager to work within the Justice and Immigration Business Unit.

Justice & Immigration (J&I) is one of three business units in the UK Central Government division. Having over 4000 employees, our J&I Business Unit provides essential services across our Custodial, Prisoner Escorting, Immigration, Community and Housing services. Our key customers are the Ministry of Justice, National Offender Management Service and the Home Office.

Overview of the role
The Communications and Employee Engagement Manager will provide support and expertise to the Justice & Immigration Business Unit to drive increased employee engagement through effective internal communication, ensuring that is aligned with the wider divisional communication strategy, which is led by the Head of Internal Communications.

You will deliver an all-employee publication; drive internal social media; support communication to the Operational Leadership Team of around 40 leaders including setting up quarterly events and producing slide packs and other materials; work closely with HR colleagues to support employee engagement; work closely with external communication colleagues to have an awareness of the potential impact of internal communication activity on external profile.

A key requirement in this role will be for you to build strong working relationships with leaders and senior managers across the J&I business unit so that you are fully aware of business activity taking place and can identify opportunities for communication.

Other key accountabilities will include;
* Developing and publishing a range of internal communications such that employees are informed of activities.
* Preparing, editing, publishing newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, social media content and other communication materials, and liaising with printers and distributors.
* Producing a range of corporate materials; ensuring compliance with business and corporate requirements.
* Delivering an all-employee publication involving: managing design and content plan, writing content, editing content, ensuring regular flow of content from contributors, meeting deadlines, managing budget
* Providing support to marketing/external communication colleagues as required

About you
As the successful candidate your career history will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of using effective internal communication to support increased employee engagement.

This role will require you to be technically competent in order to meet strict deadlines and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst developing and publishing the communications material. You will possess strong attention to detail and have excellent written and visual display skills in order to produce employee publications and manage the design and content of the publications.

You will be competent in working directly with agencies and suppliers and managing budgets.

Specific Requirements
This business unit is diverse in nature and is geographically spread which will involve you primarily working Monday- Friday, however dependent on business requirements you may need to work outside of normal working patterns. 

Our contracts are located throughout the UK therefore the willingness and ability to travel within all regions of the UK is essential.

The salary for this role is £35- £45K per annum dependent on experience.
