Benefits and money advice

It may be that you are missing out on financial help that is available to you. These may include welfare benefits to help you if you are unemployed and looking for work, or to provide you with additional money if you have a low income, are retired, bringing up children, ill, have a disability or care for someone.

Information and advice is available to you from a number of sources and links are provided opposite. Specific information for the Armed Forces and ex-Service community is provided below.

The Royal British Legion (RBL), Citizens Advice and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, have launched a unique Benefits and Money Advice Service in order to help provide better financial advice to the Serving and ex-Serving community, and their dependants.

The three year collaboration, funded by The Royal British Legion and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund was launched on December 7 2007.  There are currently 46 Benefits and Money Advisers at Citizens Advice Bureaux across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with an additional seven in-house TRBL advisers based at its headquarters and regional offices. The Legion also has a team of specialist disability benefits officers based at Head Office who provide advice and assistance in accessing or retaining statutory disability benefits. The service offers advice on a range of welfare and benefits issues, including money and debt advice.

.Please see the link to see the locations involved in this project.

All other areas are covered by the team at The Royal British Legion’s Benefit & Money Advice Service.
