Organisations set up to provide homes for those who have served will often give priority to people with disabilities. Some of these organisations also provide short and long term care for serving and ex-forces personnel and their dependants in Care Homes and Welfare Break Centres around the country, in order to make the lives of those who stay there as comfortable as possible. If you are living at home on a disability allowance some organisations may also assist with essential repairs or renovations to your home.
You may also be entitled to financial help from your local authority such as a 'disabled facilities grant' to help with adaptations to your home and a reduction in your council tax.
Civilian organisations like Leonard Cheshire Disability also offer advice and assistance on home and housing options for disabled people.
