New Deal

New Deal is a Government programme run by Jobcentre Plus that aims to give unemployed people claiming benefits the help and support they need to look for work.

There are new deal programmes for 25 plus, 50 plus, lone parents and people with disabilities. You will join a new deal programme if you have been claiming job seeker's allowance for 18 months.

A personal advisor will help you draw up an action plan to get a job. They will look at how to make the best use of your existing skills and identify any areas where you may need help. This could include training, courses, work experience, jobsearch techniques, letters of application and interview practise.
