Financial Support for adult learners

Learning as an adult may not be as straightforward as learning before you have responsibilities like a family or a job, however there is lots of support designed specifically for people like you.

If you have children or other dependants you may be eligible for childcare grants, tax credits, or adult dependants' grants.

There are many free courses available covering literacy, numeracy or languages, available while you are at work or online. Free internet access is available at your local UK Online centre or at a library. If you are claiming benefit, you can also get course fees paid in full or in part.

Job Centre Plus administer a number of financial schemes to unemployed people claiming benefits to support them back in to work - i.e. New Deal and Pathways to Work. Details of these can be found on the web link for Job Centre Plus together with other helpful information about funding for courses.
