...Come on all you squaddies/ex squaddies, don`t be shy "let`s be `avin yer",as a Norwich City Director once said

Let`s look at it this way, the more we get on here, then I suppose the more help we can offer each other

There is more of you out there because you can tell by the number of views, all be it a few,but I`m sure we can spread the word..let`s say

But please..DON`T BE SHY

This is the first time on this forum for me.  I left Army (RLC) in August but have not yet found a job (ouch).  Am looking everywhere, but am probably setting my goals too high - this is the real world now I believe.  Still, anyone known anyone who is looking for a good administrator.......... let me know.

Hi stumbled upon this site by luck, I am married to an ex squaddie.  We have been out since oct last yr and woz lucky enough to get a council house after being homeless for 4 weeks.  I have had a few jobs to date but my hubbie fell into a security officers job and the money is not bad, all in all maybe we are the few lucky ones that got sorted but so far after 12 yrs in army life we are finding civvie street gr8.  I agree the goverment don`t give a squat to ex service peeps and making it easier to start a new life should be priority seeing as service peeps protect their country and keep the fat cats safe.  Anyhow, need any advice about how we got here with a house and jobs so quick feel free to drop a line.

Hi, I am newcomer just left forces in January and am loving it. I suppose I was also lucky as I have a new job already but trying to get a house is ridiculous, iv had my name on all my local housing assossations and council for well over 6 months and not one offer yet, I think im 200 something on the list! My husband is still in the Army so we have a quarter just now but i wanted(as most do) to go home and settle back in Scotland. No offence to my husband but I dont want to drag my 3 year old all over the world , thats why I got out, so I wouldnt have to leave my son all the time and could settle him in one place!     I have even e-mailed my local MP about my situation but no reply yet as i should have known. The government arent interested in us, they only care about junkies, pregnant teenagers, asylum seekers! Doing 8 years, serving in Afghanistan etc, paying council tax, income tax and national insurance for all that time dont count for nothing! Anyway good luck to all service leavers out there, civvy street is the way ahead.
