I've been out for 9 years and all my work  (I'm a self employed consultant) comes through my CV being sent to companies.

I had the same response to my CV when I got out as you, don't give up on it though. Try cold calling on companies give them a ring and speak to the HR manager, once your CV has gone to them with no response send it again after a few months telling them it's been updated, if they have a vacancy they only check the most recent CV's as they assume you've now got employment. The hard part is getting the first job, once they can see you can do the job in civvy life you're laughing.

Hey Katie, Im surprised your having no joy. Please do talk to Civvy Street and RFEA about your career. I been out of RN for a long time and its my experience that they will offer guidance. Cant really say much more, other than you have many transferable skills from RN, dont forget them in your CV. Dont let em grind you down. Good Luck.

we get to sit back and watch while all that we signed up for and fought for that made this country great once is given away
